The Palm Beach Music Therapy Institute (PBMTI) offers a full-time music therapy program at Hospice by the Sea, in Boca Raton, FL.
The program is focused on providing music therapy services to patients and families in several of the hospice inpatient units. In
addition, PBMTI Music Therapists support the bereavement department through involvement with Camp Good Grief. PBMTI also offers
presentations, staff support, and contributes to the interdisciplinary team meetings weekly. PBMTI Music Therapists are a part of
developing the Complementary Therapies Program at Hospice by the Sea. Patients, family members, and staff have already seen the
benefits of incorporating music therapy into the hospice care. See the Lifesong page for more
information on our music therapy programs for medical settings.

| "I feel the music therapy program is important in helping the patient to die peacefully. I feel it provides a form of
communication that other ways may not provide, and because of this, it may reach patients and families in ways we can't.
Overall, it's one more tool we now have to reach patients and families" |
— Bridget Ripoll, MSW, Social Worker, Hospice by the Sea
|
| "Patients and families have responded positively to the music therapy program. Patients that had been agitated, relax.
Patients that are private have been able to communicate in a less intrusive manner - and families are able to smile
through their sadness." |
— Brenda Shepherd, MFT, Marriage and Family Therapist, Hospice by the Sea
